Eastanollee, GA (PRWEB) May 30, 2012

Applegate Insulation announces a dynamic new partnership with BluePoint Marketing to promote the commercial utilization of Mr. Insulate Cotton ArmorAcoustical and Thermal Blanket Insulation worldwide, through continuing education support and targeted education outreach to architects faced with increasing demand for green energy saving materials. Architects seeking greater proficiency in utilizing sustainable energy-saving materials will be able to take advantage of BluePoint’s educational workshops. Architects working on LEED projects or on the “2030 Challenge” will find the seminars rich in the information they need to succeed with these cutting-edge design concepts.

Focusing on Applegate’s new Cotton Armor insulation, BluePoint will be offering continuing educational opportunities for architects involved in sustainable construction, particularly in the design of commercial and institutional structures as well as high-end residential projects. Cotton Armor solves the perennial problem of achieving eco-friendly construction without sacrificing building performance though the synthesis of the ancient insulating fiber, cotton, coupled with Applegate’s proprietary BurnBarrier™ fire retardant technology. Architects and specifiers interested in future green building seminars and CEUs’ can email mrinsulate(at)mrinsulate(dot)net or call 855-626-8866 for further information.

Applegate launched Cotton Armor in 2011 in order to rectify many issues of yesteryear’s batt technology. Cotton Armor’s unique production process gives it a unique fiber layering making it easy to tear by hand or cut with a utility knife; helping ensure a precision on-site sizing and poor installations a thing of the past. In our life cycle analysis, Cotton Armor demonstrates a revolutionary improvement in resource utilization by being 54% more energy efficient in production than fiberglass. This is due to the use of recycled renewable resources and application of modern, energy-efficient electrical equipment, rather than the blast furnaces utilized in fiberglass manufacturing. Cotton Armor production was also found to result in less than 53% CO2 equivalent (Kilograms of CO2 and other gasses) and 29% less water than fiberglass manufacturing. Cotton Armor additionally qualifies for up to 11 LEED credits, contains 85% recycled content, STC ratings into the 60’s, R-values of up to 3.9 per inch and with its ease of sizing and installation Cotton Armor is among the highest performing sustainable insulations available to specifiers and designers today.
