OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage revealed a report backed with photos and a video recording proving that the Israeli occupation regime is embarking on demolishing Al-Maghariba Gate ramp at the western wall of the Aqsa Mosque.
The Aqsa foundation said it saw dozens of workmen demolishing Al-Maghariba Gate with digging tools and their bare hands, and piling up the soils and rocks aside before motortrucks take at night the piles to an unknown destination.
In addition to these excavations, the foundation says, some kind of construction work is taking place beneath Al-Maghariba Gate.
It expressed its belief that repairs are being made to the ruins of Al-Afdel Mosque under the Gate to turn it into a synagogue for Jewish women.
The foundation monitored these excavations for three days, but it said that some aspects of these diggings are still unclear.
The foundation described what is happening to the Aqsa Mosque as a big crime, and said that Al-Maghariba Gate ramp is part of the Aqsa Mosque and Al-Maghariba neighborhood which was destroyed by the Israeli occupation in 1967.
