A young mother has died after collapsing in a busy Asda carpark.
The parent and toddler car parking space where she fell has now been turned into a shrine covered in flowers and emotional messages.
The woman, named locally as Victoria Clayton, is thought to have been with a small child, her mother and sister, when the tragedy happened.
Reserved for mourners: A parking space filled with tributes for Victoria Clayton, who collapsed there
Tragic: Victoria Clayton, 33, had been visiting the supermarket in Hartlepool when she collapsed
At around 1.30pm three ambulances rushed to the carpark on Marina Way and the woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
But the woman, who has not yet been named, sadly lost her fight for life.
The car parking space, set aside for parent and toddler parking, has now been covered in flowers
with emotional messages left by family members.
One tribute said: ‘To our mummy, we will always love you and never forget you.
‘You were the light of our life.
‘Love forever.’
Another, thought to be from the woman’s partner, said: ‘I will always love and miss you.’
Another said: ‘RIP I will never forget you, xx.’
Another tribute said: ‘Forever in our thoughts, all our love.’
In another message, the words read: ‘Didn’t know you but your passing was tragic.’
It is believed that the 33-year-old collapsed in the car park after leaving the store in Hartlepool on Tuesday afternoon.
Unusual: The shrine, just yards from the store, is one of the most unusual in Britain
Heartfelt: A tribute from the the 33-year-old’s children

Heartbreaking.
Thinking of her family at this awful time.

Got to say it is not clear in the report if this poor lady died at the Car Park or the hospital.I would guess at the Car park given the tributes location. Either way, a tragic story for someone so young and in front of her family.RIP

Why do people with such negative comments only read the headline and not read the story or look at the photo’s. As they are commenting about ‘shrines’ near them they are completely off the Mark. There are no rescues, photos or toys, simply flowers, in asda flower buckets, from loved ones and those who were touched by a new mother dying 6 days after giving birth on hers and her sons birthday. Those leaving such a lovely tribute have more compassion than those hijacking the story to air their grievances about other, non identical situations. They also have much more respect. I’ve seen the flowers and they look lovely and I know many Asda staff completely agree

Well done Asda for your sensitive actions in allowing this tribute. Many shoppers will pass by and give a thought to her family and their suffering at this very tragic time. That is what this type of display is for. …….So the rest of us can also feel grateful for our own families and health.

I really do understand your point but trust me you would not be so keen if someone set up a semi permenant shrine outside your house.

This is not appropriate use of a handicapped parking space. – George, England, 19/5/2012…it is NOT a parking space for those with a disability but a mother and child space….for goodness sake READ the story as this is clearly stated in the second sentence. Apart from your crass remark given the tragedy, the term handicapped is very offensive and outdated. I am sorry to say that there is an element of people who cannot think of anything respectful to say but have comment anyway. Shame on the lot of you. A young mother has died and all you can comment on is a) how many ambulances, b) the flowers, c) the use of the parking bay. Two young children…one of them only days old…have lost their mother. You make me feel sick and ashamed to be a member of the human race….you so obviously aren’t. My thoughts and prayers go this young womans’ family.

The store is dammed if they leave flowers out in tribute but then if they moved them people woyld complain about disrespecting the lady who died and her family…

These sorts of tributes didn’t used to bother me until last year when a stolen car crashed near my home killing the teenage driver. The owners of the garden wall the car hit are too scared to remove the various cuddly toys, beer bottles, pictures of cannabis leaves and printed sheets of rap lyrics dedicated to their “Solja” that litter their hedge as his street nija friends still make the regular pilgrimage from the other side of the city and don’t want to incur their wrath. A week or so after a tragedy I understand but when they start to become a permanent fixture litter laws should apply.

Vicky died after shopping with her mam , sister and one-year old toddler named Bobby jnr, it was her birthday and also the birthday of Bobby jnr. The most heartbreaking thing of this tragedy is she gave birth to her daughter just 6-days previously………flowers, wherever they are displayed are for the bereaved to air their grief. Please stop being so negative and picky about a family who have lost a loved one. RIP Vicky x x x
