Author appearance by Dr. Ricardo C. Ainslie at the Twig Book Shop tomorrow

He went to Juárez in an effort to understand what was going on behind the headlines. What came from that trip is a look at the city through the eyes of four people-Mayor José Reyes Ferriz, a mid-level cartel player’s mistress, a human rights activist and a photojournalist. He also interviewed people ranging from members of former Méxican President Felipe Calderon’s security team and people in U.S. law enforcement.

Ricardo C. Ainslie is a native of México City and a psychologist-psychoanalyst. He uses books, documentaries and exhibits to explore subjects of social and cultural interest. His documentaries include “Looking North: Mexican Images of Immigration” and “Ya Basta!” His book “Long Dark Road: Bill King and Murder in Jasper, Texas” explores the racially motivated dragging death of James Byrd.
