After years of speculation, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are officially engaged, the Associated Press confirmed Friday.
The upcoming nuptials won’t be either star’s first trip down the aisle. After a short-lived marriage to English actor Jonny Lee Miller — the pair split in 1997 after seven months of marriage — Jolie was married for three years to Billy Bob Thornton from 2000 to 2003. Pitt’s previous marriage to Jennifer Aniston ended when she filed for divorce in 2005 after five years of marriage, much to fans’ shock and disappointment.
It seems some were still holding out for Pitt and Aniston to get back together. Amid congratulatory tweets, some tweeters expressed their disdain for Brangelina’s engagement:
