Despite the sincerity of most Occupy Wall Street protesters and their desire to close down Wall Street and even the Federal Reserve, the movement is quickly becoming a catch-all for socialists and large unions determined to tax millionaires out of existence.
On Sunday, Crain’s wrote that the “ragtag collection of no-name protesters” will be joined this week by “experienced agitators” and a coalition of labor and community groups. The United Federation of Teachers, SEIU, Workers United, Transport Workers Union Local 100 and the Communications Workers of America are all expected to exploit Occupy Wall Street this week to push their agenda.
In 2009, SEIU thugs beat a Tea Party activist in St. Louis. SEIU president Andy Stern was appointed to Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.
Unions are working to direct the energy of the anti-banker protests into their leftist agenda. “The challenge is, how do you transfer protest into power?” asked Robert Master, legislative and political director of the Communications Workers of America and a co-chair of the Working Families Party. “At the end of the day, you have to figure out a way to take this energy and turn it into legislation that really changes people’s lives.”
The Working Families Party is an ACORN front. ACORN enthusiastically supported the election of Obama, although this is supposedly not allowed under its non-profit 501(c)(3) tax status.
In addition to establishment unions, self-described progressive community groups and other foundation dependent organizations plan to exploit Occupy Wall Street’s momentum. In addition to Make the Road New York, the Coalition for the Homeless, the Alliance for Quality Education, Community Voices Heard, United New York and Strong Economy For All, Paul Joseph Watson reports today that the Soros funded group MoveOn.org plans to attend the demonstrations.
MoveOn.org endorsed Obama in 2008. It fundraised and organized for his campaign “and has become perhaps the lead lobby organization for his policies in 2009, apart from Obama’s own Organizing for America,” according to SourceWatch. It teamed up with the unions SEIU and AFSCME to pressure Republicans to vote for Obama’s pro-Wall Street policies. It spent $30 million during the 2008 election cycle to get establishment Democrats elected.

Most of the so-called community groups listed above support the Millionaire’s Tax, an idea cooked up by the Obama administration after Warren Buffett declared the rich do not pay enough taxes and urged the government to steal more money from millionaires. As I noted yesterday, such taxation schemes invariably “trickle down” to the middle and working classes and usually result in unemployment as businesses either cut back or close down.
After the foundation funded and Democrat supported unions and so-called community groups dilute or takeover the Occupy Wall Street movement, calls for reforming Wall Street and eliminating the Federal Reserve – at present a minority voice in the movement – will be overwhelmed by the same old “progressive” Democrat agenda.
Like the Libertarians behind the original Tea Party movement, the Occupy Wall Street activists who sincerely demand change on Wall Street and in the dominant financial sector will be driven from the movement and replaced by socialist apparatchiks and Democrats funded by Soros and establishment foundations.
Unions and progressives have no intention of reforming Wall Street, as a quick glance at the Obama administration dominated by Goldman Sachs, the CFR, and the Trilateral Commission reveals what the Democrat version of “change” is all about.
Michael Moore admitted that “far left” socialists and Democrats are working to eliminate capitalism and turn America into another third-world cesspool. Not surprisingly, he said ending the Federal Reserve is irrelevant.
Of course he would say that. Moore is a tool of the bankers who will now work tirelessly behind the scenes to dilute the OWS movement and turn it into another irrelevancy and circus sideshow demanding implementation of the same old tired socialist palliatives that only allow the global elite to centralize and consolidate their grip on humanity.

Michael Moores’ thoughts were a useful tool for me years ago getting me involved in alternative education and alternative media. Looking at the broader spectrum of what hes talking about and becoming educated from various other books one of which is The Creature From Jekyll Island and documentary called The Money Masters(you can watch that on youtube by the way), I know now Moore has no interest in going to the root of the problem which is The Federal Reserve and is accepting of it.

Everyone has a grievance against the government and wall street and I suppose that is why the unions want to get in on this. I understand that, however, I’m not a supporter of the modern unions and feel that if they get involved it will ruin the idea behind this protest.
There is a paradox that exists in American society; Those who are against unions and those who are for the unions. The interesting thing about this is that the unions would not even exist if people felt the markets provided fair compensation and the ability to make a decent living. Which it is true, that the markets failed miserably at this as the corporations take every advantage they can get in screwing over people and lobbying government to farther screw over people. The unions themselves are corrupted organizations that cause tremendous damage to the economy and use their collective monies to lobby government for things that are destructive to markets.
A serious lack of ethics exists in markets and in the American business psyche. No longer are companies long term strategist and concerned with employes and their families. No longer do companies and corporations serve the interests of the people and the communities in which they operate. I mean after all how and to whom are you loyal when you are a massive multinational enterprise with screaming shareholders bang down your door at every drop in dividend yields.
The entire system is unethical… and definitely not Christian in any sense of the word… which gets me to the point of the Catholic Democrats and the conservative Christians… neither of which are Godly in anyway. Catholics that are democrats but accept homosexuality and abortion, and conservative Christians that think markets should be free to screw everybody and everything they can all in the name of righteous profit. What a bunch of totally fucking screwed up people. I really don’t think Jesus is on either side of this idiocracy.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama’s sweeping healthcare overhaul will top the agenda in the new Supreme Court term that opens on Monday and could be the most momentous in decades.
Returning from its three-month recess, the nation’s highest court will confront legal challenges seeking to strike down Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement and a host of other charged issues in its 2011-12 term.
Other big cases pit privacy rights against new police tracking technology, involve jail strip searches and address a free-speech challenge by broadcasters to a U.S. government ban on nudity and blurted expletives on television.
More blockbuster cases on using race in college admissions, on Arizona’s tough law cracking down on illegal immigrants and on the rights of same-sex adoptive parents may be added to the docket later in the nine-month session.
“By June 2012, this term may prove to be among the most momentous in recent decades,” said Elizabeth Wydra, chief counsel at the liberal Washington-based Constitutional Accountability Center.
The healthcare law, Obama’s signature and most controversial domestic achievement that figures to be a prominent issue in the U.S. elections in November 2012, already has overshadowed the term’s other cases.
The law, which aims to provide more than 30 million uninsured Americans with medical coverage and to slow soaring costs, has wide ramifications for the health sector, affecting health insurers, drugmakers, device companies and hospitals.
“That of course would be the big enchilada,” said former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh in discussing the healthcare cases and the new Supreme Court term at a briefing sponsored by the conservative Washington Legal Foundation.
RULING COULD GO EITHER WAY
Legal experts said it was impossible to predict how the Supreme Court might rule on the healthcare law and said a decision could hinge on whether Congress exceeded its powers by requiring that Americans buy insurance or face a penalty.
“It will be a close case,” Jonathan Cohn, a former deputy assistant attorney general at the U.S. Justice Department in the George W. Bush administration, said at the briefing.
Other legal experts said any ruling by the nine-member court, closely divided with five conservatives and four liberals, could come down to Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy, who often casts the decisive vote.
The epic healthcare legal battle, which began right after Obama signed the law in March 2010, moved to the Supreme Court on September 28 when the Obama administration and 26 states opposed to the law filed separate appeals.
At issue was a U.S. appeals court ruling in Atlanta that struck down the law’s mandate that all Americans have health insurance, but upheld the rest of the law — the biggest healthcare overhaul in nearly 50 years.
The Obama administration defended the law as constitutional in its Supreme Court appeal.
Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, a former White House lawyer, said Congress adopted the law to address a national crisis that put health insurance costs beyond the reach of millions of Americans and denied coverage to millions more.
Paul Clement, a former Bush administration solicitor general who represents the states, said the law dramatically expands the federal government’s power.
He challenged the expansion of Medicaid, a federal-state partnership that provides health care to poor Americans, saying Congress unconstitutionally forced it on the states by threatening to withhold billions of dollars in funds.
MID-YEAR RULING LIKELY
After all the healthcare legal briefs have been filed by the currently scheduled date in late October, the Supreme Court is widely expected to officially agree to hear the dispute.
Arguments could be held in February or March, with a ruling likely by the end of June, in the midst of the presidential campaign in which Obama seeks another four-year term.
A ruling striking down the law would be a huge blow for Obama, legally and politically, months before the election.
A ruling upholding the law would represent vindication for Obama, but might make healthcare an even bigger issue for the Republican presidential candidates, all of whom oppose it.
In upcoming arguments, the top court on November 8 considers privacy rights and new technology in a case on whether police need a warrant to use a global positioning system device to track a suspect’s movements.
The court in January is expected to hear a free-speech challenge to the Federal Communications Commission’s indecency policy that subjects broadcasters to fines for showing nudity or airing a single expletive blurted on a live television show.
The last term that ended in June produced business wins.
The court rejected the largest sex-discrimination lawsuit in U.S. history by female workers at giant retailer Wal-Mart Inc, ruled for telecommunications firm ATT Inc and ended a global warming lawsuit against utilities.
Robin Conrad, head of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s legal arm, told a briefing that fewer business cases were on the docket now, compared with the past two years. She said there were fewer challenges to state laws and hardly any labor employment disputes.
So the supreme court members are coming back to work after a 3 month vacation?

I’ve tried so hard to communicate to both lefties and righties that the only way forward is for the populist left and the populist right, for socialists and libertarians, broadly speaking, to come together and resolve our differences. THAT is the only way to form the broad populist movement that can restore the voice of the People.

It IS odd that AJ chooses to go to “battle” with this movement, just as he did with the Tea Party. When he claims a desire to use the establishment systems against them. For instance Facebook or tweeking the Twitter. Then on the other hand, when another system is placed on the grid, (OWS), he refuses to use that system in the same way.
What could have been another avenue to get a message out is now a battlefield for the infowarriors……….. rather than spread videos, flyers, or t-shirts throughout this movement (possibly even awakening some of the less sincere protesters) he chooses to rant and go to battle in his still limited format.
