While perusing the pages of Blue Lives Matter’s Facebook page, I came across a very laughable post. Beyond the cute and cuddly videos and news articles of cops saving helpless animals and birds, was a video shared by #BlueLivesMatter. The video was made by an egotistical Deputy from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas, named Chuck Wells. Deputy Wells even created a ‘public figure‘ profile on Facebook, something that’s normally attributed to journalists, actors, politicians, etc.
Deputy Chuck Wells has graced social media several times in the past, telling politicians, criminals, and even parents what they should do, and how they should do it. In his latest video, he describes an alleged conversation that he overheard while dining out. In the video, he states that he overheard a parent telling their child to eat the food on their plate, or the cops would arrest him and take him to jail.
The Deputy find this very offensive, stating that cops “don’t do that”. He even compares police officers to firefighters and EMT’s. I find it ironic that firefighters and EMT’s will give their lives, willingly, to protect yours, whereas a police officer will gladly take your life, to protect his (even if the threat is only in his mind).
Please watch the video above and give me your opinions. Do you think Deputy Chuck Wells is right, in saying that kids shouldn’t be scared of cops, and that parents are wrong for telling kids that cops will arrest them?
I personally keep my kids away from cops, at all costs. I’ve instructed them NOT to talk to police under any circumstances. And, in case you’re wondering why I’ve chosen to tell my children to avoid cops, check out a few of the links below.
