Here is a recipe to make DIY reusable beeswax food wraps.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Beeswax
  • 1/4 Cup Pine Resin
  • 1/4 Cup Jojoba Oil
  • 4 – 18?-22? Cloth rectangles

What You Will Need:

  • Double Boiler (Glass jar and Sauce Pan)
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking Sheet
  • 1 inch wide Paint brush
  • Oven

How to Make DIY Beeswax Reusable Food Wraps:

  • Prepare and Cut the Cloth Pieces
    • 13 inches by 13 inches – big enough for a sandwich or to cover a fruit bowl
    • 10 inches by 10 inches — for wrapping cheese, carrot sticks, vegetable snacks
    • 14 inches by 26 inches – big enough to cover a baguette
  • Melt the Beeswax and Pine Resin in the double boiler
  • Drizzle Jojoba Oil while they are melting and stir.
  • Preheat oven to 225 degrees
  • Place parchment paper on the baking sheet
  • Place a single cut piece of fabric on the parchment paper
  • Using the paint brush, brush the beeswax mix on the fabric.
  • Place baking sheet in the oven and let melt.
  • Once fully melted, remove baking sheet.
  • Go back over wax with the brush to make sure all evenly metled.
  • Flip cloth over brush with wax and place back in the oven into melted.
  • Take off parchment paper and hang to dry
  • Repeat with the rest of the cloth fabrics.

Wash in cool water with a natural soap. Don’t let the wraps soak in water it will shorten the life span. Hang it to dry. Do not machine wash or dish wash.
