Eight militants were arrested in two separate sweeping operations in the southern Kandahar province, the provincial office said in a statement.
“The operations were launched in Kandahar city and Khakrez district in which a large number of weapons, ammunition and over 50 barrels of explosives were seized,” the statement said.
The statement added that neither police forces nor the civilians sustained casualties in the operation.
