A Florida deputy has been busted after at least 30 porn videos and pictures of children were found on his laptop and phone, according to authorities.
Adam Godbey of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was hit with two dozen child porn charges.
West Palm Beach police officers searched his home on Wednesday and found the phone and hidden computer. After receiving a tip, they tracked down Godbey through an IP address, the Palm Beach Post reported.
The incriminating material showed kids as they engaged in sex acts, according to records obtained by the newspaper.
“The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office holds its employees to the highest standards and never forgets about its duty to preserve the public’s trust,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement, according to the newspaper. “Unfortunately sometimes an employee makes a bad decision which leads to misconduct. This misconduct was reported, investigated and determined to be criminal in nature, resulting in the charges.”
Godbey was booked into jail on Thursday. He was ordered to have a mental health evaluation during a court hearing on Friday
