Floyd Wallace Arrested AGAIN for Obstruction; Pranking Cops by Carrying a Rifle Case with Tripod Inside

UPDATE: I’ve uploaded the 24 minute video from Cell 411, I trimmed the dead front and end, and it’s clear that Wallace was trying to see if the cops were going to violate his rights. What’s amazing to me is that Wallace has this encounter before the one below and that all of law enforcement wasn’t aware of Wallace by the time he got arrested later. There seems to be plenty of cops around and many of them State Troopers.

A week ago today Floyd Wallace, founder of Omaha CopBlock, was released from jail after charges of trespassing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct were dropped. In that incident Wallace was filming three Omaha City Police employees while they investigated a call at a hotel; see video here. The video proves that the cops pushed the manager into asking Wallace to leave the property, failed to properly issue a summons to him and collaborated their stories immediately to better fit the trumped up charges.

Wallace was jailed for over 30 days before the charges were dropped because nobody knew he was arrested.

Today I got a Cell 411 notification that Wallace was streaming video. I was unable to see any video but was able to download the audio. What I gathered from the 24 minute audio is that Wallace was walking around with a rifle case that had a tripod in it. I have no idea why but I can only guess he was trying to pull a prank on them. I wanted to get this story out fast but will be uploading that audio as soon as possible.

Since Wallace wasn’t arrested in the Cell 411 stream I didn’t think anything else of it. When I got online at 9 pm I noticed the Bambuser video below on Wallace’s Facebook page. Seems Wallace went to another government building of some sort with the same rifle case. Wallace must have known that he was having technical difficulties before and switched to Bambuser.

**PRO-TIP: ALWAYS TEST AND CHECK YOUR GEAR AND APPS. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES HAPPEN BUT I BELIEVE THIS WAS A SETTING ISSUE, MAKE SURE YOUR GEAR IS WORKING PROPERLY!**

In the video below you’ll see a few security guards that are barely concerned – in terms of Wallace being a treat; they didn’t pull out weapons – but when ‘police’ show up the guns comes out.

As you saw in the video above, Wallace was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of Obstruction of Justice. His bond is set at $5,000 and he’s expected to see a judge Monday morning.

While I don’t’ recommend doing what Wallace did, especially alone, if you do, know that the police have shot people for holding far less gun looking items than rifle cases. In the first interaction, which seems to be with State Troopers, I thought Wallace was going to be shot and that’s the reaction you’ll get more times than not.

To me this just isn’t worth it. Proving the cops will freak out over people carrying gun cases in them will not only cost you your life but the cops freak out about enough stuff on their own that you don’t have to risk it.

Nevertheless, Wallace did it and why we don’t know because he’s in a cage. Everyday officers use discretion and even the first did when they let Wallace go. Even though he was cussing them out and ‘disorderly.’ Why? We don’t know but when the next batch of cops realize it was just a gag, he gets cuffed and stuffed for obstruction? Obstruction of what? Like Wallace told the first cops, “you guys came to me.” And so did the second one, so what exactly was he obstructing? It does seem a little excessive of a reaction, which seem to be what Wallace was hoping for because he does say several times that he’ll “take it” when being told his charges.

If you’d like to check on Wallace you can call the Douglas County “Corrections” Center at 402.444.7400. When I called I mentioned that what I saw in the video doesn’t warrant locking a man in a cage, IMO. Even if it was “obstruction” a PR bond should do or that they should atleast inform their superiors that they might have wrongfully caged someone. On top of letting them know that I’m looking out for him and will be calling back.

I’ll update this post as information comes.
