Four counties to hold Iran culture weeks

Two concurrent exhibitions in Ankara and Beirut will showcase photographs by Iran’s Sassan Tavakkoli-Farsani, Babak Sediqi, Homayoun Amiryeganeh, Ali Zahabi, Mohammad-Kazem Mohammadpouri, Farhad Rafiei, Nasser Mizbani, Sadeq Miri, Saber Anvari, Afshin Bakhtiar, Babak Borzouyeh and Alireza Firouzi.

The photos depict Iranian city life, natural scenes, rituals and historical monuments, ISNA reported.

The Iranian culture weeks in Turkey and Lebanon will also display paintings by Gholam-Ali Taheri, miniatures by Reza Badrolsamaie, calligraphy works by babak Hejazi as well as traditional Persian art practitioners Mehdi Irani, ayyoub Javankar-Foumani, Shahram Amiri, Hadi Chabok, Khosro Jafari, Eshrat Badr and Narges Moghani.

Visitors will also get the chance to enjoy traditional Persian music performances, Naqqali and Zurkhaneh (house of strength) sports.

Zurkhaneh is an ancient Persian gymnasium where the Sport of Heroes, which combines pre-Islamic Persian culture with the spirituality of Sufism, is practiced.

Thailand and Croatia will also hold similar events starting on June 27, 2012.

Iranian culture weeks are organized by Iran’s cultural offices in collaborations with the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
