Frank Walton’s British Landscapes

FRANK WALTON was born in London on 10th July 1840. He was a landscape and coastal painter in both oil and watercolour. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1862 until 1924. He was elected a full Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in 1882, a full Member of the Royal Oil Painters Institute in 1883 and became its President in 1898. He was also elected an Honorary Membership of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters and was a Member of the Royal Society of British Artists.

He exhibited 101 paintings at the Royal Academy, 230 at the RI, 137 at the ROI, as well as numerous other London and provincial galleries.
