Authorities in Papua New Guinea say former senior minister Paul Tiensten has flown to Australia to avoid a fraud probe.
The new government has established a multi-agency investigation into allegations of corruption at the national planning department.
The chair of the investigation says Mr Tiensten flew to Brisbane on a one-way ticket yesterday, despite being ordered to attend an interview at the police fraud squad office.
Mr Tiensten is wanted for questioning over several matters including a $4 million grant to a businessman to establish a new airline.
