Fresh militant attacks kill 6 in Pakistan

Unknown gunmen opened fire and killed two women in Ittehad Colony area of Peshawar city on Sunday, officials told a Press TV correspondent.

In another incident, gunmen ridding on a motorcycle opened fire and killed two people in Dalazak area of Peshawar, the capital of Pakhtuwnawa Province.

Separately, armed men opened fire and killed two people in Dera Bughti area of Balochistan Province in southwest Pakistan.

Meanwhile, suspected militants blew up two schools and one health center in separate attacks in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.

Militants planted explosive materials, which detonated in a middle school for boys in northwestern town of Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday, officials said.

As a result of the blast, two rooms in the building were totally destroyed. Just after the blast, police diffused a nearly 15-kilogram bomb in the same building.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but militants of Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are the prime suspects.

Over the past several years, TTP militants have destroyed hundreds of schools, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which was formerly known as North-West Frontier Province.
