General Electric Co. said Tuesday that it will supply 49 turbines for a new wind energy project in Canada’s Ontario province.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Dufferin Wind Farm is being developed by a Chinese wind power developer, China Long Yuan Power Generation. It is expected to add 100 megawatts of energy to the region’s electricity grid, GE said.
The turbines will be shipped to the project site next year, with commercial operation expected to start the year after, GE said.
In late afternoon trading, shares of the Fairfield, Conn.-based industrial conglomerate rose 42 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $19.32.
