Greek bailout negotiations extend into Monday night

World Bulletin / News Desk

Greek bailout negotiations are to be prolonged into Monday evening, as European finance ministers try to come to grips with Greek government proposals.

A meeting of European government leaders, which was to follow the finance ministers negotiations, has been cancelled to give the Greek delegation a chance to make its proposals for economic reform understood — nothing has been rejected by the Eurogroup so far.

Eurogroup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem said after the meeting on Monday that European leaders would be notified as soon as sufficient progress had been made in the negotiations.
