The incident involved a Fokker-27 turboprop plane which crashed into a suburb of Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, leaving up to eight houses ablaze, Reuters cited officials as saying.
The plane, carrying seven people including the pilot, co-pilot, instructor and trainees, crashed at 2:45 p.m. local time (0745 GMT) while trying to land at Jakarta’s Halim airport.
The only survivor was the co-pilot, who sustained injuries, said Air force spokesman Azman Yunus, declining to elaborate on his condition.
It was not clear if there were casualties among people in the houses.
