Iran cyber police’s explanations about recent attacks

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Iranian Cyber Police said that attackers against some Iranian public website were from Saudi Arabia.

“Eight Iranian websites were attacked on May 24 from three companies in Saudi Arabia. Two of the attacks were from Iran and six were from abroad,” Kamal Hadian-far said.

He noted that the hackers did not have anything to do with Saudi Arabian government but they were from the country.

The Iranian police official said that Iran has recognized the individuals and their IP and has handed over the information to Interpol.

He noted that the attack was due to lack of security of the websites.
