The championship was held in the Park Chung Hee Gymnasium in Gumi, South Korea from February 16 to February 19.
Hassan Rahimi at the 55-kilogram category, Mehdi Taqavi at the 66-kilogram, Sadeq Goudarzi at the 74-kilogram, Ehsan Lashgari at the 84-kilogram, and Parviz Hadi at the 120-kilogram class pocketed gold medals for the Iranian squad.
Masoud Esmaeilpour won Iran’s silver medal at the 60-kilogram class and Erfan Amiri grasped a bronze medal at the 96-kilogram category.
The Islamic Republic also finished in the first place at the Greco-Roman section of the event with three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze medal.
In the total medal table, Iran also stood first with eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals, followed by China and with four gold, three silver and six bronze medals, and Kazakhstan with three gold, three silver and seven bronze medals
Japan, South Korea and India are in fourth to sixth place, respectively.
