FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “Preserving and strengthening the accomplishments of Iraq following the withdrawal of foreign forces is an important issue that will be accomplished through serving the people [of Iraq],” said Jalili in a Wednesday meeting with visiting Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Barham Salih.
Jalili further praised the outstanding role of Iraqi leaders in resolving problems and promoting domestic unity among various groups and called for the maintenance of such efforts through improving public service to Iraqi citizens.
During the meeting, the Iraqi official presented Jalili with a report on the latest developments in Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdistan region and emphasized the importance of further enhancing bilateral ties with the Islamic Republic.
Salih added that the relations between the PUK and the Islamic Republic have a long history and have always been “positive.”
Emphasizing the need for a joint security arrangement between the two countries, Salih further underlined that the officials of the Patriotic Union and the territory under its control will never allow the area to be used against Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s SNSC chief also met and held talks on Wednesday with the Iraqi lawmaker and member of the Islamic Dawa Party, Haider Al-Abadi.
During the meeting, Jalili said ‘the people’s government’ in Iraq provides an opportunity for the Iraqi and regional nations “to make use of all the potential to serve the [Iraqi] people.”
Iraq should be able to play a fundamental role in the regional and international affairs under the current circumstances and should not allow enemies to hatch plots against it, the SNSC secretary pointed out.
Al-Abadi, for his part, called for an improvement in the Islamic Dawa Party’s ties with Iran.
