‘Iraq move toward security satisfactory’

“Iraq’s regional cooperation contributes to the security and stability of the region,” Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili said in a meeting with the Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim in Tehran on Monday.

Jalili hailed the effective measures that have been taken to establish internal security and stability across Iraq and expressed hope that providing services to the Iraqi nation would constitute the “prevalent and common discourse” in the country.

He further highlighted Iraq’s international and regional status and the capacities created by its current presidency of the Arab League.

For his part, Hakim pointed to the overt and covert foreign interferences to disrupt the move toward lasting security in Iraq.

“The experience of Iraq’s various tribes in constructive interaction for establishing stability and security in the country over the past several years has created a bright outlook of progress and well-being for the Iraqi nation,” Hakim said.
