Israel locks down West Bank, Gaza for Nakba Day

Days of Palestine, Jerusalem -Israeli occupation army has announced plans to totally seal off West Bank, besieged Gaza Strip during 68th Nakba Day, which anniversary on May 15.

According to an Israeli army statement, all checkpoints between the West Bank and Israel will be sealed off to West Bank residents expect for “humanitarian” cases.

Israeli TV Channel Two, meanwhile, reported that Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon on Tuesday night decision to impose a military closure on the Gaza Strip.

On May 15, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians plan to hold marches in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian refugee camps in the neighbouring countries to commemorate the 68th for the Nakba; the day the Jewish Israeli Zionists announced state of Israel.

Palestinians use the word Nakba, which means catastrophe, to refer to the destruction of hundreds of cities and villages in historical Palestine, as well as the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their ancestral homes.
