(Scroll down for video) An Israeli singer will join an elite list of performers who entertained diplomats at the United Nations, according to press reports in Israel.

The Iranian-born Israeli singer, Rita, whose albums are sold on the black market in Iran, is poised to make history once again next month, as she will perform at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, a privilege shared by few artists in the past, including Beyonce.

Rita will sing Persian songs from her latest album, “My joy”, as well as some of her other great hits.
The performance is expected to be seen by the U.N. Secretary General, the General Assembly president, ambassadors and diplomats, Jewish community leaders, Iranian and U.S. artists.

Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Ron Prosor, will address the audience before Rita takes the stage.
“The world will get to see the real Iranian bomb,” Rita joked.

“Usually, voices of condemnation and criticism against us are heard in the U.N. General Assembly hall, but the performance of Rita, will voice a different sounds, a sound of hope, peace and multiculturalism, which is the real sound of Israel,” the ambassador said.

“While we connect people through music, the only instruments that the Iranian leaders are playing is war drums,” he added.
“I am fully aware of the rarity of this event, especially with the U.N. Secretary General, General Assembly President and Ambassador being present,” Rita said. In the video below you can see more about the singer, Rita.
