Israeli soldier shot ten bullets at Palestinian lady

Days of Palestine, West Bank –An Israeli soldier shot ten live bullets at Palestinian lady near Al-Shuhada Street in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil on Tuesday.

At first, the lady suffered serious wounds and left bleeding for about half an hour as the Israeli occupation soldiers at the scene prevented paramedics from evacuating her.

Later on, the lady, who was identified as Hadil al-Hashlamoun, 18, was taken to the Israeli Shaare Zedek Medical Centre in occupied Jerusalem. Israeli medical sources later confirmed that she died of her injuries.

According to Palestinian eyewitnesses, who were near to the lady at the checkpoint, the Israeli soldiers shot her after refusing to open her school bag and lift her face veil, or niqab.

The Israeli army claimed that the lady attempted to stab a soldier using a knife before shooting her in the legs. However, photos released by the Youth Against Settlements group showed her as posing no threat to the soldiers.

Spokesperson of the Israeli Shaare Zedek Medical Centre said the teenager was “terribly injured, and underwent surgery upon her arrival.”

Hadil’s father and medical staff in the Israeli medical centre said that “three operations were performed on the lady, and part of her intestines had to be removed. But the bullet in her chest was what killed her.”
