Jennifer Lopez Opens Her World to Fans With ‘Tour Feed’

What’s it like to be global pop star Jennifer Lopez right now? Aside from dealing with emotions over quitting American Idol, she’s wooing fans online while busy hopping around the globe on tour with Enrique Iglesias.

For the North American leg of her worldwide tour, Lopez launched “Tour Feed,” a new section on her website that aims to expose intimate moments of her and tour mates.

“Think of it as your all-access-pass to the tour, where you’ll be able to watch performances, share experiences with one another and head backstage,” Lopez says.

Tour Feed will offer pictures, giveaways, and blogs from Lopez, backup dancers and the band, from now until Sept. 2. On Wednesday, for example, Lopez revealed Iglesias sent her a “thoughtful surprise.”

“Fans get their own profiles and can connect their JenniferLopez.com accounts with their personal Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media,” says Rob Weiss, COO at EQAL, which powers Lopez’s site.

Lopez has leveraged social media in the past to engage fans. Most recently, she premiered her “Follow the Leader” music video on Twitter. She also teamed up with Yap.tv to make the second screen multilingual and challenged Facebook fans to unlock a new song on iTunes.
