Joseph Magnus Stäck (1812-1868) was a Swedish landscape painter and art professor at the Royal Academy and was elected Chairman of the Sveriges Allmänna Konstförening. He was unable to paint as much as he would have liked due to a long-term battle with rheumatic fever or malaria. Here is his bio on Wikipedia.
