April 4, 2012 – Light Flashes Followed by Loud Booms in Baraboo, WI.

Two bright flashes of light 45 minutes apart,
each followed by a loud boom in Baraboo, Wisconsin
(lower left circle) on Sunday, April 1, at 1 AM Central. Loud, jolting
booms have previously been reported in Montello (northeast of Baraboo)
at 5:30 PM Central on March 20, 2012; and in Clintonville 80 miles
northeast of Montello (upper right circle) beginning Sunday, March 18,
periodically through March 27, 2012.
A Baraboo police officer witnessed the first incident while parked in the 800 block of Eighth Street. “I observed a large flash of light followed by a ‘boom,’” the officer wrote in his report. “I advised dispatch of this information and my belief that it was possibly a transformer.” However, Sauk County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers contacted Alliant Energy and spokesman Steve Schultz confirmed Monday there were no outages in Baraboo around that time.

In the town of Igualapa Centro, Guerrero state, officials reported
that at least 800 houses collapsed, but no serious injuries or deaths.
A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near Igualapa Centro (red bullseye)
in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, region between Acapulco and Oaxaca at midday
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The epicenter near Igualapa was about 92 miles
west of Oaxaca and about 120 miles east of Acapulco. The epicenter

Georgia Tech’s Andrew Newman, Ph.D., who has been studying the volcanic island of Santorini with 20 GPS stations reports that the caldera is rapidly deforming at levels never seen before. Since January 2011, the caldera chamber has expanded with enough magma to fill a 900-foot-diameter sphere. 50,000 summer tourists a day visit the island where one of the largest volcanic events in human history occurred around 1,650 B. C., burying the port city of Akrotiri with more than 20 meters of ash and created the famous Santorini cliffs. The last Santorini eruption was in 1950. See: Georgia Tech.

March 11, 2012 – First Anniversary of 3/11 Fukushima Disaster.
On the 1st anniversary of the Japanese quake and tsunami catastrophe, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) thinks more people beyond the 70,000 evacuated so far need to be removed beyond the 12-mile-dead-zone around the TEPCO nuclear power plants because radioactive contamination beyond the dead zone exceeds safe levels. The IAEA recently warned that the “average level of caesium-137 is double its operational criteria for evacuation – 1 MBq/m2 of caesium-137.” But to date, the Japanese government has not agreed to widen the evacuation zone. High radiation levels in the dead zone are reportedly preventing workers from recovering bodies left by the tsunami of March 11, 2011.

At 8:31 AM, on Thursday morning March 8, 2012,
during live traffic report on Phoenix FOX 10 KSAZ, a large,
bright flash of light appeared behind traffic reporter for a
fraction of a second in the general direction of the Phoenix South Valley.
Fox 10 contacted the Arizona power utility, APS, and the Salt River Project
“to see if a transformer had blown, but that was not the case.”

March 9, 2012 – EPA Warned by 22 Scientists That Monsanto
GMO Corn Rootworm Losing Resistance to Rootworms.

Monsanto’s genetically modified corn rootworm crop is supposed to reduce the need to put insecticides into the soil because Monsanto’s goal was to make corn plants toxic to the worms that try to feed on corn roots. But in a March 5, 2012, letter from 22 corn experts addressed to the EPA Office of Pesticide Programs, the academic scientists report their studies show that the genetic modification by Monsanto of the “transgenic Bt corn rootworm corn” genetically infused with the toxin Cry3Bbl to kill rootworm has produced GMO corn that is losing its resistance to the insects.

NASA’s Goddard Space Weather Lab reports the solar plasma and matter will arrive Earth on March 11, on the first anniversary of the March 11, 2011, quake and tsunami catasrophe in Japan. Such a storm is mainly a nuisance to satellites, causing occasional reboots of onboard computers and adding noise to imaging systems. Reuters reports, “The glacier, a massive tongue of ice in the Santa Cruz province, covers 250 square kilometers (97 square miles) and advances yearly into a lake known as Lago Argentino. As Perito Moreno moves forward, it cuts off a river feeding the lake. Water builds up pressure and slowly undermines the ice, forming a tunnel until ice comes tumbling down. The phenomenon repeats itself at irregular intervals, with the last major ice falls occurring in 2008.” See video.

March 4, 2012 – NASA Confirms Asteroid 2012 DA14
Could Hit Earth Next February.

Asteroid 2012 DA 14’s closest approach to Earth
will be February 15, 2013, when it will be about 16,700 miles
(27,000 km) from our planet if its orbit does not change. Asteroid

NASA scientists are concerned enough to suggest the asteroid either be blasted with big guns – or painted to change how sunlight reflects off its surface in order to alter the asteroid’s temperature, spin and orbital path. If we shoot at the asteroid, it could break into pieces that could still hit Earth. Painting DA14 to change its orbit slightly could backfire in 2056 when asteroid DA14 returns near Earth. If DA14 hits Earth, estimates are the impact would be similar to the Tunguska, Siberia, blast of 1908 that knocked trees down over an 830-square-mile area. See Near Earth Objects.

and lit up Facebook pages with reports of buildings shaking and loud booms.
Then an hour and forty minutes later at 11:44 AM, dozens more people
heard and reported back-to-back loud booms in Brunswick County.
WECT-TV (NBC) reported, “The United States Geological Survey and its network of seismometers have reported NO significant earthquakes along the east coast within the last day (February 27-28, 2012) – so earthquake activity is not likely the cause. The USGS would love to know what you felt and when you felt it.
“WECT.com contacted Corporal Clark with the public affairs division at Camp Lejune, home of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in Jacksonville N.C. He was not able to confirm any live ordinance military drills at frequently used training areas jut off the coast of North Carolina; however, he did refer us to higher command regarding the issue. for James Jesus Angleton, Director, CIA Counter-intelligence from 1954 to 1974. After James
Angleton died on May 12, 1987, leaker said he pulled this 9-page memorandum from a fire
that was burning up Angleton’s most sensitive MJ-12 secret files.

Low-level radiation in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan,
after March 11, 2011, 9.1 earthquake and massive tsunami, appears
to have immediately hurt and killed bird populations to a greater degree
than was expected from a related analysis of Chernobyl. That nuclear meltdown
on April 26, 1986, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine caused
an explosion and fire that released large quantities of radioactive contamination
into the atmosphere that spread over much of the Western Soviet Union and Europe.

University of South Carolina scientists reported in the February 8, 2012, Environmental Pollution that bird counts at 300 locations in Fukushima Prefecture, “ranging from 15 to 30 miles from the damaged nuclear power complex,” where humans were still allowed to live, had external radiation levels from 0.5 to 35 microsieverts per hour in July 2011. Bird die-offs were significant in the more contaminated areas. “For 14 species of birds found in both Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and Fukushima region, the diminution of population size from increased radiation dose was more pronounced at Fukushima than Chernobyl.”

February 8, 2012 – Russian Drill Reaches Lake Vostok
2.4 Miles Under Antarctic Ice.

“It’s like exploring another planet, except this one is ours,” Prof. Robin Bell, a glaciologist from Columbia University told Associated Press. Russia’s Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) in St. Petersburg has been drilling for more than two decades to reach the surface of Lake Vostok, about the size of Lake Ontario, and finally got there on Sunday, February 5, 2012. The scientists knew the drill reached the lake because 50 cubic feet of kerosene and freon poured up to the surface from the bore shaft, sent upward by a surge in pressure from the lake water.
That gush froze in the drill hole and will be removed for analysis in December 2012, when Antarctica’s summer returns. This breakthrough occurred right before the scientists were preparing to leave as the harsh Antarctic winter sets in now. Lake Vostok has been under 2.4 miles of Antarctic ice for more than 20 million years. The lake is warmed from below by geothermal heat, so the primeval water could contain ancient bacteria for comparison to Earth’s surface bacteria and life.
If the Antarctic Treaty organization approves, Russian scientists want to explore Lake Vostok with an underwater robot that can videotape as water samples and sediments are collected from the bottom of the lake.
February 6, 2012 – Why Is Fukushima Nuclear Reactor 2 Heating Up?

NHK World in Tokyo reports that on the morning of Monday, February 6, 2012, the temperature in Unit 2 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant soared to 164 degrees Fahrenheit (73.3 degrees Celsius) and remains mysteriously high despite more water being pumped through it.
TEPCO, that in December 2011 put Unit 2 and two other Fukushima reactors in cold shutdown mode with cooler temperatures, suggested recent plumbing work in Unit 2 might be responsible for the sudden, mysterious heating. See NHK World and video.
February 6, 2012 – Two Oceans Existed On Mars?

MARSIS radar data collected over two years of Martian orbits shows that the northern plains of Mars are covered with a low-density material interpreted to be ice-rich sedimentary deposits. The European Space Agency (ESA) reports two oceans have been proposed, including one about 4 billion years ago, and another 3 billion years ago. The ocean that occurred 4 billion years ago was during a time that Mars had warmer conditions. The second theorized ocean was during a time when subsurface ice melted after a large impact, which created outflow channels that drained the water into areas of low elevation. The water in the ocean would have either frozen back in place and been preserved underground, or turned into vapor within a million years or less. If the oceans existed for only a short geological time, the question remains: could life have started in ancient Mars? Also see: ESA.

NASA’s Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) spacecraft was launched in 2008 to circle 200,000 miles above Earth and to study the chaotic boundary where the solar wind from the sun streams toward cold gases from interstellar space. IBEX data indicates “the interstellar region shows less oxygen than expected.” So, where is outer space oxygen? One idea is that interstellar oxygen might be “locked up in the dusty or icy grains that are in the local interstellar material” beyond our Sun’s solar wind bubble that protects this solar system. A six-year survey of millions of stars using a microlensing technique found
that nearly every star has orbiting planets. The average number of planets per star
is more than one; thus, there are 100-plus billion planets in the Milky Way galaxy.
And there are billions of galaxies in this 13.7 billion-year-old universe.

Asteroid 2005 YU55 radar image of asteroid was obtained
on November 7, 2011, at 11:45 AM PST when the space rock was
at 3.6 lunar distances, about 860,000 miles (1.38 million km), from Earth.
The next day November 8, at 3:28 PM Pacific, YU55 moved 30,000 mph closest
to Earth – 201,700 miles measured from the center of our planet. “Puzzling features” were
reported by NASA JPL, but no further images have been released since short videos
of November 7th images, including radar image above by NASA/JPL-Caltech.

Fourteen thousand people around the world tuned in to the 2 PM Geneva / 8 AM Eastern webcast (that had technical problems throughout) from CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, to hear if the illusive Higgs boson, or “God particle,” has been found in the Large Hadron Collider intense research of 2011. The answer is Not yet, but: “We observe an excess of events around 126 GeV (Giga electron Volts),” said Fabiola Gianotti, Ph.D., head of the ATLAS research, one of two major scientific and engineering teams trying to find a Higgs boson particle. The other is CMS headed by Guido Tonelli, who also reported that 124 – 126 GeV “is the region where, if you see excess events, there’s a hint that something is up.”
