Male Body-Builder Officer Body-Slams Female Student

School Resource Officer flips student out of her desk and tosses her across the room.

A school resource officer at a South Carolina high school was caught on video slamming a student to the floor. Because of his massive build the officer is known to some students as “The Incredible Hulk”. Students say the officer has a history of roughing up students.

According to police, the incident began when a female student became disruptive in her algebra class and was texting on her cell phone. The teacher asked the student to leave, and when she refused, an administrator was called in. They were unable to manage the situation and resource officer Deputy Ben Fields was called. The video shows Deputy Fields approaching a female student sitting at her desk. Deputy Fields tells the girl to get up “or I’ll make you”. Without giving her a chance to respond, he yanks her wrist, wraps his arm around her neck and body-slams her to the floor backwards while she is still in her seat. He then drags the student out of the overturned desk, throws her several feet across the room and jumps on top of her while instructing her to put her hands behind her back. He then tells the other students, “I’ll put you in jail next.”

Student Tony Robinson, Jr., who filmed the video, said ”I’ve never seen anything so nasty-looking, so sick to the point that you know, other students are turning away, don’t know what to do, and are just scared for their lives. That’s supposed to be somebody that’s going to protect us. Not somebody that we need to be scared of or afraid.”

The student suffered no serious injuries. Deputy Fields was fired. The School Superintendent said the district is strengthening its training efforts with school resource officers to ensure that such an incident does not occur again.
