Saturday Night Live began in 1975 and at various times its cast has included comedians Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year and plans to mark the milestone include a documentary and book.

Jagger, who in 2009 joined the supergroup SuperHeavy with Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart, will take his turn hosting the comedy show two weeks after popstar Rihanna.
