Kiev, Ukraine (red marker) is one of Eastern Europe’s oldest cities
and the capital of independent Ukraine. It rests on the Dnieper River with a population
of 2,611,300. In the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Declaration
of Independence for Ukraine was proclaimed by the Ukrainian parliament on
August 24, 1991. “The city of 200 churches” is thought to have existed as early
as the 6th century and a Christian city since 988. Kiev preserved orthodox
Christianity for centuries, including through control of the atheist Soviet Union.

January 31, 2012  Gallatin, Tennessee and Olive Branch, Mississippi – At least 30 YouTube videos are now circulating from around the world with eerie sounds recorded over the past year since March 2011.

Listeners report that eerie sounds – some compared to a “chorus of trumpets or horns” – surround them without a specific source point. Recently northeast of Nashville in Gallatin and southeast of Memphis in Olive Branch, Mississippi, on January 18 and January 19, two residents were shocked to hear coming from all around them what each has also compared to a chorus of  trumpets or horns that were eerie – even frightening.

The first experience was Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Sixty-three-year-old Cindy Smith, a retired real estate agent, has lived in Gallatin, Tennessee, 35 miles northeast of downtown Nashville, in the same house for twenty-seven years. It was 12:30 PM and Cindy was packing her car to visit her daughter’s home to dog sit while her daughter was in Chicago for work. Cindy had made a first trip from the house to put boxes in her car when she was stopped in her tracks by a sound she had never heard before.

“Chorus of Trumpets,” January 18, 2012,
12:30 PM Central, Gallatin, Tennessee

Gallatin, Tennessee (upper right red circle) is 35 miles northeast
of downtown Nashville (lower left red circle). Gallatin, now a population of about
25,000, was established in 1802 as the permanent Sumner County seat. The town was
named after Albert Gallatin, Secretary of Treasury to presidents Thomas Jefferson and
James Madison. Gallatin is precisely on the path of a total solar eclipse that will occur
near 1:30 PM Central on August 21, 2017. Totality will last 2 minutes, 39 seconds.

Cindy Smith, 63, Retired Real Estate Agent, Gallatin, Tennessee:  “ I believe it was the first load I put in and I had raised the back hatch of my SUV to put my things in the car. All of a sudden, I heard this very, very loud noise coming from everywhere. I was trying to figure it out and the first thing I did was look up. I quickly looked around and saw that no one was home across the street or behind me.

Actually to tell you the truth, my first thought was – and I know this is going to sound strange – but my first thought was trumpets of Revelations because it was just so encompassing and so loud.

Seven Angels Blowing Trumpets
in
Revelation of St. John The Divine

King James version of The Bible, “The Revelation of Apostle
St. John the Divine” in A. D. 96.

King James Bible, Revelation, Chapters 8 – 9 describe five angels, each sounding
a trumpet after the opening of the seventh seal.

King James Bible, Revelation, Chapter 9 describes sixth angel sounds a trumpet.

King James Bible, Revelation, Chapter 11 describes seventh angel sounds
a trumpet to reveal the mystery of God.

Cindy Smith:  “I have to say it was frightening at first because I did think of  Revelations. I have never heard any other sound like it in my life – never! It just did not make sense.

WHY DID YOU IMMEDIATELY THINK OF TRUMPETS BLOWING IN REVELATION?

Well, I live in the Bible Belt and am very familiar with the end of the world type of prophecy. And I don’t know why I immediately thought of that. I just did. It was so loud and so unusual. It did sort of sound like trumpets, you know? It had a very odd, almost metallic sound to it. It had almost like a groaning sound in a way. But yet there was like a musical quality to it like a horn being blown. It almost sounds like an animal horn. You know like back thousands of years ago when people would blow through animal horns? It kind of reminded me of that.

HAVE YOU HEARD A DEMONSTRATION OF AN ANCIENT HORN?

I think I have  – I watch a lot of nature shows and a lot of history shows, and it just kind of sounded like that.

Then I thought, ‘No, no, no, it’s not that. Maybe my next door neighbor had turned up his speakers too loud in his house and that must be it.’

So I ran back in the house and looked to see if there were any cars in their driveway (of neighbor’s house).  But there were no cars there, so  no one was home. Then I was really puzzled. But the noise had stopped. It had gone on for maybe about half a minute.

Cindy Researched Strange Sounds on YouTube

I remember later on after I got to my daughter’s house that I had heard a report about some strange noise in Costa Rica. So I thought, ‘I’m going to get on YouTube and see if I can find something similar to what I heard.’

And then when I found the video – ‘Strange Sounds from Kiev, August 11, 2011’ – that one in particular I thought was accurate. And that was five months ago, so evidently these sounds have been going on for some time. The sound was so unusual – and it was frightening. It just went to your core. It was like nothing I’ve ever heard.

Since a lot of people have been hearing sounds and recording them, I realized that there was a mystery here. And I would love to know what it is!

WAS THERE ANYTHING REPORTED IN THE NASHVILLE AREA?

No, there was not. I watched the news and nobody said a word about it. Nothing. I’m very surprised.

WHEN YOU FELT FEAR, WHAT WAS IN YOUR MIND IN TERMS OF IMAGES?

Images? I was looking up at the sky  and it was a beautiful, gorgeous, cloudless day with a beautiful blue sky. The wind was not blowing. It was just a perfect day. I guess it was shock. I think I was just like shocked. I think we need to find out what it means.

WHAT IF IT IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY LIKE THE ARCHANGEL REALM, THE DIVINE FIELD, INTERACTING WITH EARTH?

Yeah, what if? I don’t know. I guess every body needs to pay attention.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IT MIGHT MEAN?

Maybe it’s a warning. Maybe something big is going to happen. Maybe it’s trying to get our attention.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY THAT THE WARNING WOULD BE ABOUT?

(long sigh) Well, since it’s being heard around the world, I guess it’s a warning to humanity that They are coming.

WHO ARE THE ‘THEY’?

That’s the $64 million question. Who are the They? It’s a mystery to me.”

“Chorus of Trumpets,” January 19, 2012,
3:45 – 3:50 AM Central, Olive Branch, Mississippi

Then fifteen hours later beginning at 3:45 AM Central for about five minutes, another “chorus of trumpets” was heard by 45-year-old William Wilson Smith, a newspaper deliveryman for the Memphis Commercial Appeal’s commercial accounts. Wil has been delivering papers to stores since September 2011. He also has worked as an audio engineer for musical groups and is sensitive to frequencies and audio dynamics. It was early morning Thursday, January 19, on his regular route in Olive Branch, Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee, that he was astonished by the loud “chorus of trumpets” that suddenly surrounded him in every direction.

Olive Branch, Tennessee (lower right red circle) is a few miles southeast of
downtown Memphis. Originally called Watson’s Crossroad, Olive Branch was founded
near where several old Chickasaw Indian Trails crossed. Olive Branch is a suburb of
Memphis, Tennessee, and is part of the Memphis Metropolitan Statistical Area, a
region that consists of three counties in southwest Tennessee, four counties in northwest
Mississippi, and one county in eastern Arkansas. Olive Grove is a very quiet town.
It has light industry – mostly warehouses, printing companies and things like that –
so it’s very quiet at night and early morning.

William Wilson Smith, Newspaper Deliveryman, Memphis Commercial Appeal, Olive Branch, Mississippi suburb of Memphis, Tennessee:   “I was out making my deliveries on my usual early morning route. It was January 19, 2012,  at approximately 3:45 AM. I was in the downtown area of Olive Branch, Mississippi, which is a suburb of Memphis, a town of 20,000 to 30,000 people. I spend 60%  to 70% of my time outside my delivery vehicle and most of my deliveries are to outside receptacles (newspaper stands) because the stores are closed.

I was putting together a package of newspapers for one of the local stores. Then I heard what sounded like a chorus of trumpets – a chord of  6 or 7 frequencies, maybe. It seemed fairly loud, but it seemed like it was all around me, not like it was coming from any certain direction. It started up and lasted probably 30 seconds – and then kind of faded out. Then within a couple of seconds, it started back up and stayed pretty steady for 3, 4 or 5 minutes. Every now and then it would fade out for a few seconds and come back.

“Electricity in the Air”

WERE YOU AWARE OF ANYTHING IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT THAT CHANGED?

Yes. For me it was like electricity in the air – I could feel my hair standing up. It was a very eerie feeling.

There was a flock of starlings quite common around here this time of year. They were making a little racket as starlings do and they quieted down during this sound and stayed quiet after it ended for a little while. Also, the street I was on is one of the main streets in town.  There is just a little bit of traffic at that time of the morning. A car was passing by and they slowed down and rolled down their window and came to a stop in the middle of the street for a few seconds and then drove on.

The sound seemed to be coming from all around me. No matter which way I turned, it had the same intensity.

IN THE VIDEOS AROUND THE WORLD,  THE VIDEOGRAPHERS SEEM TO BE AIMING THE CAMERAS UP INTO THE SKY AS IF THEY ARE HEARING FROM ABOVE. DID YOU HAVE ANY SENSE THAT YOU WERE HEARING MORE OF THE CHORUS OF TRUMPETS FROM ABOVE?

Definitely, but the sound was coming from every direction – EXCEPT from below.

SO YOU HAD A SENSE THATTHE TRUMPET SOUNDS WERE COMING FROM ABOVE MORE THAN ANY OTHER DIRECTION?

I think so. The first direction I looked was up. I’m a very analytical person and I was looking up. The sound was coming above me, below me – I could literally feel the vibration. I don’t think it was super loud, but the sound was everywhere.

WHY WOULDN’T THAT BE LOUD?

Speaking as an ex-soundman, the dynamic of it I would say was maybe 100 decibels. A human being speaks at about 70 to 80 decibels in a normal tone of voice. A train horn is probably 120 decibels if you are right next to the railroad tracks. The sound had body, but not a lot of volume. It was definitely loud enough that when the sound ended you had that echo or fading of the sound as the sound traveled away.

COULD THE SOUND HAVE BEEN DIRECTED AT YOU SPECIFICALLY?

I hope not! The reverb, the noise I could hear traveling away from me – I think if it was directed at me, I don’t think that would have occurred. It’s confusing to me right now because it really blew my mind! (laughs)

HOW DID THIS ‘CHORUS OF TRUMPETS’ DIFFER FROM THE TRAINS THAT COME THROUGH THE OLIVE BRANCH/MEMPHIS AREA ON A NIGHTLY BASIS?

A train generally has like a 3-horn sound. It will have three tones because it has three different sized horns. Being a soundman, I’m really into the frequencies. A semi-truck is generally like a dual-horn where you hear two pitches. This unusual sound was several frequencies – a very low frequency, which it seemed to move in and out of. The mid-range frequencies seemed to be predominant.  They held the longest with the least amount of breaks. It is hard to describe!

WHAT DO THE TRAINS DO WHEN THEY COME THROUGH AT 2 AM AND 4 AM EACH MORNING?

OK, we have three crossings here in Olive Branch. I was probably within one-half mile of one of those. Each of the three crossings is a mile to 1.5 miles apart. When the trains come through, there will be one short horn blast and maybe two short blasts as they approach an intersection. Then there is about a ten second blast as a train comes through the intersection. Then once the train is through the intersection, they stop pulling horns because it is an urban area. Then you won’t hear it again for a couple more minutes until they get to the next intersection. The farther they get away, the quieter they get.

But this chorus of horns was a 30-second blast followed by a 3 to 5 minute blast. Definitely not a train! – in my opinion anyway.

AS A PERSON WITH A MUSICAL ENGINEERING BACKGROUND, SENSITIVE TO PITCHES  AND SENSITIVE TO THE DIRECTION OF SOUND AND MICROPHONES,  WHAT WENT THROUGH YOUR MIND  ABOUT THE SOURCE OF THIS CHORUS OF TRUMPETS?

This sound was a little early for the train (3:45 AM) and I’m thinking it is not a train. Then I thought perhaps a semi-truck laying on its horn? But this sound was too close to me. The interstate is a good mile from where I was.

Gabriel’s Horn?

WHAT HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT SINCE THEN COULD HAVE BEEN THE SOURCE?

A lot of things. Maybe seismic activity because we’re in an area they keep telling us is bound to have another major earthquake like the big New Madrid quake (in 1812).

Also some supernatural ideas have gone through my head  – like maybe the veil between dimensions and universes is opening up? Or we have this 2012 December 21st thing coming up. I’m not sure the world is going to end, but  (laughs) the way things are going, you just can’t help but think could it be Gabriel’s horns, you know?

A lot of things have gone through my mind and it has really made me think because I have never heard a sound like this in my life.

WHAT ARE GABRIEL’S HORNS TO YOU?

If you go by the Judeo-Christian history – Gabriel, the archangel, when he blows his horns, the walls of cities fall (Jericho).

WHY DO YOU THINK IT IS HAPPENING IN SUCH A WAY AROUND THE WORLD THAT ONLY A TINY MINORITY ARE HEARING THE SOUNDS?

That is a good question. Maybe it’s a warning to us. If it’s a heavenly thing, it could only be a warning to be interpreted, I guess, by the observer.

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

I truly believe that we are on the verge of  some new version of humanity.”

Old illustration of Archangel Gabriel blowing horn, artist unidentified. Gabriel is known
as the angel of revelation to the Virgin Mary and Mohammed.

In English-speaking culture, the image of Gabriel as an angel is associated with Gabriel blowing a trumpet blast that initiates the end of time and the general resurrection at the Last Judgment, but there is no such reference in the Hebrew Bible or the New Testament.
