Nato’s bombing campaign in Libya, now in its seventh month, will continue despite the collapse of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime, alliance officials said today.

French Defence Minister Gerard Longuet said the air strikes will not stop until all remaining pockets of resistance are suppressed and the new government asks for them to end.

Although the former rebels now control most of Libya, some regions remain under control of pro-Gaddafi forces. These include Sirte on the Mediterranean coast, the city of Bani Walid and parts of the south.

“Sirte has an extremely symbolic value, but it’s not all of Libya,” Mr Longuet said as he arrived for the second and final day of a Brussels conference of defence ministers of Nato nations.

“There is pro-Gaddafi resistance in Bani Walid and dispersed resistance in the south of the country.”

  1. Obvious corruption here. The French military industrial complex wants to get rid of French stockpiles so France has to BUY MORE. The war-profiteers are in control of the government.

As for killing people? I don’t think they could care less.

Yep-We’ve seen it all before-create demand
Nothing like getting a good little war going to bolster and prop up an ailing economy to divert attention away from the real issues and to come up in the Polls
These wars are just side shows-an extension played out by Politicians albeit wreaking catastrophic results on innocent civilian populations
    Oil
    Drugs
    Arms

    It is absolutely Criminal

Yes this makes a convenient side show while banksters steal everything and fold.

Since they are not living by the golden rule they must be depending on some other rule made by some other “god.”

What come around goes around, and it may not be in this lifetime…

  2. The ‘beast’ cares not who lives or who dies.

  3. NATO not Nato.
Nato is a Japaneses amime character.
This shows the level of intelligence of most news editors.

That’s a very valid point well made :- Any other grammatical errors you want to point out before you comment on the people dying in Libya?

  4. What is happening here is our $Dollars$ are being blown up all over the Earth. The Dollar Sign look at it $ II=Bars – S=slavery and the Federal Reserve knows that. The bank do not care who the borrows are, they only care about the Interest paid to them by the workers who were blinded by the Congress and the President to sign the Federal Reserve Act, witch was never ratified by congress. So the President can go into war using the UN and this is something that WE can abolish. They created the IMF that acts like an authority and places Central banks where they wish. Then call the UN to order NATO to send in Humanitarian relief, using bombs, correct? Where is all the Trillions our government spent on wars. Oh the Fed have stolen from the American People and people from all over the world. When is it going to stop, throw a monkey wrench in the system, STOP the System, Danger Will Robinson…

  5. What I want to know is when these people are going to be stopped. They are blatently getting away with war crimes and murder, and the UK has a media that is fully complicit with it. I call that a pretty fucked up state of affairs. Thank god Russia and China vetoed the Syria resolution.
