Voters in North Dakota, where the economy is swelling with money from the oil boom, have voted against abolishing property taxes in the state.
More than 76% voted “no” in Tuesday’s initiative to get rid of the property tax, according to returns from the North Dakota Secretary of State.
North Dakota boasts the lowest state unemployment rate in the country and has become the nation’s second-biggest oil producer. As a result of the energy rush, government coffers are flush with revenue.
The proposal, known as Measure 2, would have amended the state’s constitution. If it had been approved, North Dakota would have been the only state without a property tax, according to the Tax Foundation, a research group that advocates for lower taxes.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? They must have added a whole bunch of other shit to this vote that would have negatively impacted people if they had voted yes to this issue. The votes need to be addressed individually, not lumped together to manipulate results.

I think the issue was if they got rid of the property tax it would have shifted the power of the purse away from local government to state and federal government.

I hope everyone of those stupid fucks wind up in a sitution to lose their homes because they could not pay the tax man…… That’s why I have never owned property because in reality, you really don’t own your property, the County does. You’re allowed to live their so long as you pay the property tax..

What the f#$% is wrong with those people in North Dakota?!!!! Here they have an opportunity to take back their property rights and they turn it down. Either they are a bunch of brainwashed zombies, a bunch of liberal retards getting free handouts and renting their homes, or the vote was rigged. Who the hell would vote “NO” to this? I have seen some unbelievable comments, but the saddest and most common of them all are ones where people believe without property taxes there would be no libraries or schools. These people are morons!! Prepare for the zombie apocalypse!!!!
