PA: 96 Israel violations against Al-Aqsa, Al-Ibrahimi Mosques

There were 96 Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa and Al-Ibrahimi Mosques in February, the Palestinian Ministry of Waqf revealed on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry also revealed nine Israeli projects aimed at Judaising Jerusalem, noting that they are planned to be carried out beneath the Old City.

The statement also revealed that the Israeli occupation authorities had started building a space for Jewish prayer for men and women near Al-Buraq Wall, known to Jews as the Wailing Wall, as well as laying down a plan to build a park in Zaytoun Mountain overlooking at Old City.

According to the statement, the park connects two illegal Jewish settlements in the Jerusalem’s neighbourhood of Al-Tur.

Meanwhile, the statement said that the Israeli occupation is continuous in expanding settlements ahead of implementing the plan of Greater Jerusalem.

It also noted that the occupation authorities had laid down the cornerstone for a Jewish tourism site on the site of Al-Mujahideen neighbourhood in the western area of Al-Buraq Wall.

The PA statement said that the Israeli occupation had built a military watchtower at Damascus Gate of Al-Aqsa Mosque and replaced the Arabic names of 43 streets in occupied East Jerusalem with Hebrew names.

In the statement, the PA also said that the Israeli occupation continues its policy of arresting Al-Aqsa Mosque’s guards and deporting them.

Israeli occupation authorities also prevented raising the Muslim athan, call to prayer, at Al-Ibrahimi Mosque 45 times in February and continued their Judaisation activities in the historic Islamic site.
