‘Painter of Wind’ goes to South African filmfest.

The South African city of Ekurhuleni is rolling out the 1st Ekurhuleni International Film Festival from 23-25 June 2016, and Iranian cinema will have its own representative there, a documentary titled ‘Painter of Wind’, directed and produced by Ezzatollah Parvazeh.

Parvazeh’s documentary portrait depicts the life of Bijan Kashkouli, a Qashqai ethnographer painter who contracted Alzheimer’s disease in 90 and has been living with his daughter. ‘Painter of Wind’ was screened in last year’s edition of Iran’s International Cinema Verite Festival.

Parvezeh won the Best Film award for his documentary ‘Woolen Doll’ in 2014 Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival, Qatar.
