There is a bill in the Senate that is attempting to keep torture alive as an interrogation technique. The National Defense Authorization Act is being debated in Congress and if passed, American citizens could be detained without a court hearing anywhere in the world. President Obama stated he will veto the bill if it should pass. Is Senate Bill 1867 threatening the US constitution? Paul Craig Roberts, former Reagan administration official and columnist, gives us his take on the proposed bill.

  1. Hi Everybody……………Imagine suspected terrorist sympathizers being shot on sight on the flimsiest of evidence; at the store, at home in front of their families, at work… I hope you get the picture……………….now just to feel bit better……..Wouldn’t you say it is better to be detained (alive!) as a prisoner of war based on slim evidence than it is to be executed on a whim based on the same slim evidence? If you’re detained and alive, you at least have a chance of being released eventually. The alternative is rather final…..or should it be……Give me LIBERTY…..or Give me DEATH….
    Thanks
    Best Wishes
