Mr Mugabe has shared power with long-time foe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai
over the last three years after violent and disputed elections in 2008.
“It has always been peaceful, very peaceful and we were suspicious of
each other at the beginning, time went on, we now got to know each other,
now Tsvangirai can drink a cup of tea which I make and I will have no
objections drinking a cup of tea which he makes,” Mr Mugabe said of the
arrangement.
Officials said the President would celebrate his birthday at a family dinner
at his home in the capital Harare.
ZANU-PF is planning a celebration rally in eastern Zimbabwe on Saturday
