Sectarian violence kills 100 in Nigeria

A rescue services official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said on Wednesday that over 98 people have died since Sunday after triple church bombings sparked violent attacks on Muslims in Kaduna, The Associated Press reported.

On Sunday, two churches were bombed in the city of Zaria and another in the city of Kaduna, killing 19 people. After the bombings, Christian mobs attacked people looking like Muslims, leaving at least 79 people dead.

Banks and offices remained closed on Monday and Tuesday as rescuers searched streets looking for the bodies of the people killed by the armed Christian gangsters.

In addition, the Christian attackers set mosques on fire and torched petrol stations, dozens of vehicles, and shops.
