It might have been Melbourne’s coldest day since November 2 last year, but in the Victorian Alps temperatures fell as low as minus 8.9 degrees, bringing snowfalls.
In Melbourne the temperature plummeted to 11 degrees in the late afternoon, with rain and wind squalls, while Easter holiday makers at Falls Creek were making snowmen.
Resort spokeswoman Debbie Howie said the weather changed dramatically from warm and sunny to cold and wintry overnight.
“It’s very exciting to see these early snowfalls with dramatic sub zero temperatures” Ms Howe said.
“Winter is fast approaching and this is a sign what’s to come.”
