FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda
If you’re in to a high-tech garden, the Green Wheel by DesignLibero might appeal to you. It seems to be a solution for people who have no option but to grow their veggies indoors, or who have a tendency to kill their beloved plants.
Discovery News writes, “[It] is essentially a plant-growing appliance that works with help from gravity. The wheel rotates plants potted inside around a light while a pump automatically irrigates them. Tiny vases containing coco fiber support more than eight feet of plants and its roots, according to DesignLibero. NASA originally came up with the rotary garden concept in the 1980s as a way to feed fresh produce to astronauts in space, but the agency never took it all the way. Instead, a number of similar rotary growing systems have been available commercially for a long time… but none of them look quite this sharp.”
However, it isn’t exactly ideal if you live in a place where you can grow herbs and veggies by traditional means — as in a pot of dirt, some sun and a little water. Because this planter was meant to grow veggies in places where it’s not so easy to keep them alive, it requires an energy input that might not be worth the cost.
DesignLibero tries to take the eco-friendly route, stating, “This device is absolutely ecofriendly. It helps you to grow your own fresh herbs and vegetables without leaving home and on the contrary with supermarket vegetables it helps to reduce transportation and plastic packaging consumption.”
There is a point about the transportation and packaging footprint, however, you probably won’t be able to grow enough to live off of all year long. And how long would it take a big, high-tech planter’s embodied energy footprint to actually offset the transportation and packaging footprint of market veggies? Probably a very, very long time.
Still, it is certainly an intriguing idea for those who can’t seem to grow herbs and veggies on their own…
