NOT SO BAD: Netflix posted its first quarterly loss in seven years, but the setback of $4.6 million, or 8 cents per share, wasn’t as steep as analysts feared.
THE PLUSES: The results released Monday showed the video subscription service gained 1.7 million U.S. customers during the first three months of the year. That left Netflix Inc. with 26.1 million U.S. subscribers as of March 31.
THE MINUSES: Netflix’s forecast envisions a slowdown in subscriber growth, alarming investors worried about the tougher completion facing the company. Netflix shares lost nearly 17 percent in extended trading.
