According to The Daily, the Tampa police produced this vehicle to deal with some protesters.

Overkill, much?

(As many folks have observed on Twitter, these sorts of responses are playing right into the protesters’ hands.)

UPDATE: It’s not actually a “tank,” of course, though it certainly looks like one. It’s a “12-ton armored personnel carrier.” It is supposedly for “rescue” operations, though why it needs to be armored to do that is not clear.

I highly suspect that they have those in storage right now.

The sheriff in my county had an APC just like the one above, and was roundly criticized by the black and Hispanic leadership as arming the department with military riot busters in anticipation of large scale conflict.

Tampa has a very large black population that threatens to go on a rampage from time to time. I have no doubt the above APC was bought with them in mind.

The vehicle is impregnable to small arms fire, and with a few snipers popping out of the openings the police inside could decimate a howling mob of thousands.

Back when Bush I was pres and Cheney was Sec of Defense, He got Bush and the Congress to declare drug use a “National Security Issue”.

The Bush admin them got Congress to appropriate a few million$$ for surplus military equipment to be given to all the local and state police departments under some program called Operation Alliance or some such name. That’s where the APCs (other heavy weapons) and other hardware came from.

These asshole drugstore commandos have had this stuff since the eighties but because of potentially bad public relations impact have kept the stuff under wraps. The feds had been militarizing since the seventies.

The ATF and a number of state and local cops were trained at Fort Hood by SF operators using a scale mockup of the Branch Davidian compound to polish up their “Dynamic Entry ” skills. Even though the fed pigs were not real competent at the storm trooper stuff, there was nothing David Koresh could have done to dissuade the the Clinton administration from having these combat trained rookies from showing their skills (or lack thereof) kicking in the doors of the Branch Davidian’s House and getting their asses shot off. Even then they an had Old M-60 tank fitted with gas insertion stuff and other armor(they said the got it from the TX National Guard) all around the buildings.

The Texas Sheriff’s Department also showed off their APC a couple of years ago when they were rounding up all those kids from that religious sect’s enclave and taking them away from their parents and putting them in foster homes. Yea let’s use our armor to show those religious sect’s Mom’s and kids we mean business when it comes to child custody cases.

Perhaps no one mentioned to the cops that these things (old M113 APCs) are not immune from 50 cents worth of gasoline and a pop bottle.

Rubber fires are very difficult to put out,

And Napalm is very easy to make. I believe those tracks are “cable embedded” not the “steel link” type. After the rubber burns off only the steel cables are left which are insufficient to act as a traction devices. The vehicle is then disabled…. Although, I could be wrong. There maybe more fire defense built in to the design….

It’s an M113 APC, The armor rating is shit house 5.56mm can dent it, 7.62mm can almost penetrate and a .50 cal round well, you seen a hot knife through butter. Tampa bay residents are lucky they don’t have the newer variant the A4, bigger engine much heavy armor rating aircon reactive armor thicker belly plate armor, totally suit crowd control, oh and did I mention they can be out fitted with a 25mm chain cannon.

The founding fathers never intended for the government to have more weapons than the people, much less permanent standing armies and only a permanent navy. Through the government’s legislation we have no say in and the ignorance of the population they have banned most weapons and entirely for the people which is directly against the 2nd amendment. Knowing that so many do not have weapons they can use illegal unjustified force against the people and take away every other rights we have, or had. Florida is a huge military base, I`m not sure why, maybe the brass like living in sub-tropical (oppressively hot and humid for 6 months of the year)- Florida. It`s not surprising to me that tanks are being rolled out in a Florida police department, especially not Tampa. Per Tampa Florida – Wikpedia:

Americans in the rest of the county do not realize what Florida has become, I didn`t until I moved here.

Supposedly, Florida is a key state in presidential elections (as is California). When you look at the 2010 Census demographics, you realize why Cain might actually be doing well in Florida polls.

I would not be surprised if both Cain and Obama both spend a lot of time in Florida. They need to cater to their new non white base, in Obama`s case, illegal non white base. When you see pictures of Cain in Florida with a whole bunch of white supporters behind him cheering, it`s probably a sham designed to fool whites in other states, hinting to the weak minded ‘ here is the proper candidate for all decent and proper whites, now go out and vote for him’. fools and lackeys.

As Florida demographics change to a majority non white base, we will probably observe a change in government leadership (and most other institutions also) from white to non white. Historically,I believe that is what usually happens. The leaders(rulers) eventually look like the majority population. It has already happened in many of the cities in Florida. Black and Hispanics are taking the reigns of city governments, slowly but surely.

Btw, the Governor of Florida, Rick Scott, is ex-military. His Lt Governor is Jennifer Carroll, the first Black Lt Gov in Florida. She is also ex-military.

It was probably a necessity for Scott to have a non white running mate to win in Florida. I`m not suggesting there is anything wrong with that, she may be a great Lt Gov. I`m just saying it`s a fact of life.

My prediction is that in the near future you will start seeing non whites running for governor in Florida(and elected), who will be required to have white running mates – to keep the white minority pacified.

With the huge military presence in Florida, I`m surprised the military brass were not enraged when BP PERMANENTLY fowled their beautiful nests in the Gulf. I would guess many of them have seaside homes along the Gulf coast.
