Tehran intl. book fair kicks off

“This book fair is an opportunity that we hope will turn into a cultural festival through the efforts of its organizers,” Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday.

The Iranian president described the fair as “a cultural event all nations attend to exchange views and communicate in the line of perfection, in a free, peaceful and humane atmosphere.”

Tehran’s annual International Book Fair is one of the biggest book events in the world where many domestic and international publishers convene to present their latest publications.

More than 1600 foreign publishers from 77 countries will be attending the book fair with their latest books and journals in different languages, announced the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Tehran’s 25th International Book Fair will run from May 2nd to May 12th at the city’s Grand Prayer Grounds.
