The GetUp! board has anointed the deputy national director, Sam McLean, as successor and Mr Sheikh says he’s leaving the organisation in experienced hands.
”Sam has been involved in every key decision GetUp! has made in its recent history, and is one of the world’s most capable experts in this unique field.”
Mr Sheikh married Anna Rose last November but the pair have had little time to relax. She embarked straight after the ceremony on a tour to promote her book, Madlands, which arose from the controversial TV documentary I Can Change Your Mind About Climate.
Mr Sheikh has yet to decide on his next career move, but is adamant it will involve ”helping create a more progressive Australia”.
