Two Taliban commanders killed in Paktika

Two local commanders of the Taliban were killed in a sweeping operation in the eastern Paktika province, governor Mohebullah Samim told Veterans to day Reporter Rashidi.

“The operation was launched in the centre Sharan city in which eight more insurgents were detained,” the governor said.

“Neither the security forces nor the civilians sustained casualties,” Samim said, adding that some weapons and explosives along with eight motorcycles were seized in the militants’ hideout.

The outfit is yet to make comment in the reaction of the government’s claim.

Earlier, two Taliban commanders were killed and two others injured in a police operation in Sorkhrod district of the eastern Nangarhar province
