The US First Armored Division, along with soldiers from the US Air Force and the US Army Special Forces participated in the drills, AP reported.
The military exercises were carried out on the Fort Bliss base in Texas in May.
“The training that we conducted today is very similar to the types of missions we will be accomplishing in Afghanistan,” sergeant of the US Army Grant Omer said.
The American soldiers participating in the drills will be dispatched to Afghanistan this fall.
This is while Afghanistan’s parliament on Saturday approved a security pact between Kabul and Washington, which extends the US presence in Afghanistan beyond 2014.
The deal allows the US military to stay in Afghanistan for at least another decade after 2014, when most foreign forces are planning to pull out of the country.
On May 2, US President Barack Obama signed the deal with his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai to provide aid, advisers and support for a period of 10 years after the expected departure of foreign combat troops in 2014.
