FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “The security of the region is no concern of the US. If the US was capable of establishing security in the region, it should have been able to prevent the revolutions in Tunisia, Yemen and Egypt,” Deputy head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ismail Kowsari told ISNA on Saturday.
Regional security will not be provided through the deployment of US fighters, Kowsari said, adding that “It is the people of the region, not the US, who are capable of providing security in the region.”
The lawmaker said that it is not unusual for the US to reposition its fighters as Washington has several air bases in the region, including in the UAE, adding that the issue is not of much significance.
Kowsari said the US might be seeking to relocate 9,000 forces, expelled from Japan, to countries like the UAE so that the host states will pay the costs of the deployment.
His comments came in reaction to reports stating that the US has deployed some of its most sophisticated stealth jet fighters on an allied base less than 200 miles from Iran.
ABC reported on Saturday that the stealth F-22 Raptors are in hangars at the UAE Al Dafra Air Base.
