‘US terror drone kills 3 in south Yemen’

The victims were killed on Thursday when the vehicle they were traveling in was hit by a missile fired from the aircraft, The Jerusalem Post reported.

In March, US assassination drone strikes killed at least 64 people, mainly civilians, in southern Yemen within the space of only three days.

The CIA has been flying drones over Yemen from a secret base in the Middle Eastern country since 2011.

Last year, two American citizens, Anwar al-Awlaki and his teenage son, were killed in US drone attacks on Yemen. Their deaths sparked strong criticism against the administration of US President Barack Obama’s targeted killings of civilians, including Americans, across the world, without any judicial procedures.

Leading academic Professor Noam Chomsky has also condemned the US policy of targeting alleged terror suspects in foreign countries using the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), saying the tactic amounts to ”state terror.”

The US has also used the drones in Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Iraq.

Washington claims the airstrikes target militants, but the attacks have mostly led to civilian casualties.
