Hezbollah designates November 11 as Martyr’s Day, a solemn occasion commemorating the sacrifice of all martyrs and especially Ahmad Kassir, who valiantly orchestrated a pivotal operation against the Israeli military command in Tyre back in 1982, reshaping the course of history.
In the current year, Hezbollah has adopted the poignant slogan “Alive,” symbolizing the enduring spirit of the martyrs who, though physically departed, eternally live on through their profound impact and unwavering legacy.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah reflected on Ahmad Kassir’s unparalleled legacy, stating, ‘No other operation garnered the acclaim that Ahmad Kassir received.’
Kassir, affectionately known as the ‘Prince of Martyrs,’ executed a self-sacrifice operation against the Israeli military command headquarters in Tyre on November 11, 1982.
This significant act of resistance, on a day now designated as Martyr’s Day by Hezbollah, stands as a testament to Kassir’s bravery and the audacity with which he confronted the Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon. Ahmad Kassir’s selfless heroism left an indelible mark, boldly challenging the Zionist entity at a time when few dared to contemplate standing up against even a single Israeli soldier.
