Where’s an Emergency Alert System for the Internet and the phone?

At 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, television programs and radio shows will be interrupted with a familiar message: “This is a test. This is only a test.”
It will be the first time the Federal Emergency Management Agency has attempted to alert the entire nation at once with its Emergency Alert System. While the program hopes to reach as many people as possible as quickly as possible, two means of communication are still missing from the system: the Internet and mobile phones.
FEMA launched a national alert system for phones in May, called PLAN, that reaches some smartphones on some national providers. The program sends out free text messages about emergency situations. However, only about 50 percent of Americans own smartphones and the program has not fully been adopted across the country.
It would be interesting to see the agency undertaking something similar in partnerships with major Internet companies. Could it be possible for the Google logo to turn into an alert message? Or for Twitter’s promoted ads — which appear in user timelines — to be a message from FEMA?

I saw 30 seconds in the full article but not 30 minutes.
And we are all propagandists. We all talk in a way that spins something, including me, no matter how “objective” we try to be.
Frankly I can barely stand listening to Obama at all, and I would never listen to him for a full 30 minutes.

Ya know… I’d received one of these on my cell phone for the first time about 2 weeks ago. There was this big red cross in the notification area and when I viewed it, I had no idea what it was about. Something about emergency test which I proceeded to delete. I was then brought into this menu-type setup system that asked about other tests I wished to receive. I don’t remember them all but there were probably 5 or 6 of them. Of course, I unchecked all since I could care less and wasn’t interested in receiving these messages going forward. I saved the config. and went about my business.
Today, I received another 🙁 What the hell? I said “NO!”
People taking pictures of you with the camera’s on their cellphone/ipod, and the NWO recording THEM on their cellphone/ipod, well, it’s just a big ‘ole spy fest, isn’t it?
The Washington Post is also known as Bilderberg’s propaganda outlet. They attend all of their meetings. Then they push what they are told to.
The truth is that this EAS is an illegal taking of private property without just compensation, or more simply, theft. Unless you agree to it, they are taking something from you against your will.
There is nothing “mandatory.” You always have a choice. And so do they.

Yes I use to live near DC for many years and the Washington Post is definitely working for the tyrannical elite 100%. My family that still lives there use to get and canceled awhile back because of the tainted news and lies.

The alert will be coming from indonesia/asia next week if there is an emergency when Obama is traveling…..via satellite

I think we an EAS alert in our bathrooms, after all I may be taking a shit when the government wants to communicate with me.
Problem solved! I turned off my phone, and killed the power to my home at 1155 hours. Turned the power and the phone back on at 1215 hours and enjoyed a nice conversation with my son during that time. If people don’t want these gov’t idiots in their homes and taking over shit, off or unplug is the answer.
I have the solution and something I’ve been using for years.
Pay for a VPN service and I recommend HMA VPN service for multiple reasons. You can choose from many different countries and not deal with this bs from your government controlled ISP and deal with this. There’s a lot of details related to this so hard to explain everything in one comment.
Long story short it protects your privacy from your ISP, the government and its agencies plus you can choose an exit node that is not even in America. It’s encrypted and at least with HMA set up to renew logs every hour so even a physical raid occurred at a physical (exit node) server they wouldn’t be able to break the encryption within one hour or even close using OpenVPN but also has a PPTP and IPSec option for routers. Also control your DNS resolution that allows your ISP to see what you are browsing and how they could control what websites you visit. If you have any questions ask me on this site.

Like you said above, you don’t have to use the DNS servers of your ISP. You can use whatever YOU want. You don’t have to let them redirect you.

All VPNs keep connection logs
Anyone believing a VPN can be used for criminal activities and get away with it, is living in cuckoo land, all VPNs keep logs, if they didn’t they would not be in business for long, law enforcement or their dedicated server provider would shut down their business, you need to cover your ass and so do VPN companies, legally VPNs do not have to keep any logs but if a VPN is continuously used to commit crimes and they do not take any action to stop it they could be the ones facing court, I already warned people that HMA can track you down if you break the law in my Hide My Ass one year review.
